Industry statistics show that the arts sector has a problem with mental health. So how do we create a work environment that prioritizes equitable well-being? Our panel discusses the different approaches their organizations are taking. We cover grassroots efforts, cross-organizational structures, and distributed affinity groups. You'll gain resources and ideas to make positive changes in your workplace.

Tessitura's DEAI learning series aims to elevate ambitious ideas and effective initiatives. We hope to inspire you to advance diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion in your own institutions and in the arts and culture sector.

This series of virtual events is curated by the Community DEAI Advisory Committee, comprised of 12 international individuals employed by an organization using Tessitura and five members of the Tessitura staff.

Heath Wilder

Heath is the Director of Customer Experience for the Sydney Theatre Company and has been delving into Tessitura for a decade.

Previously, they worked as Head of CRM and Business Intelligence for Sydney Dance Company, and in the Sydney Opera House ticketing department, all three on Gadigal land. Heath currently co-chairs the Neurodiversity & Mental Wellness and analytic Coffee! Tessitura Community Groups.

Away from Tessitura, Heath has a Master’s in Medical Science (Neurophysiology) and a Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts. They worked as an actor for 20 years in a variety of mediums from stand-up, theatre, and television, and still have a huge love of their science roots. Heath is active in the autistic community, regularly collaborating on projects providing support and awareness for neurodivergent folk. They operate and administer community forums for autistic adult professionals from around the world.

I moved to London from a tiny village in North Wales in 1997 to study Stage Management at Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama.

After graduating I worked as a Stage Manager on a number of projects in London.

In February 2001 I applied for a Front of House position at the Royal Albert Hall whilst in between Stage Management jobs and have been there ever since in a number of different roles in the Front of House, Box Office and IT Departments and am now the Tessitura Development Manager.
